Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about pricing, output quality, ownership, and getting the most out of the VFX Studio.
Getting started
- Do I need an account to try VFX.ai?
- You can browse the catalog and see examples without signing up. To transform an image, drop in your email and we email you a one-time link to continue — no password to remember.
- How long does a transform take?
- Most jobs finish in under 90 seconds. You can keep using the Studio in another tab while a job runs.
- What image formats do you accept?
- PNG, JPG, and WebP. Transparent PNGs work best for compositing. Maximum file size is 25 MB.
Outputs and quality
- What DPI do my outputs come in?
- Every print-ready render ships at 300 DPI, pre-scaled to standard POD framing (8×10, 11×14, 16×20, 24×36). You can also download the raw 4K master for custom framing.
- Can I tweak the illusion after the first render?
- Yes — the Studio exposes depth, tilt, and lens controls on every generated job. Reruns are unlimited on paid plans.
- Do my outputs include the source artwork?
- The 3D layer is composited over a transparent backdrop, so you can drop your own background in any editor. We never bake a stock-ground behind your work.
Ownership and licensing
- Who owns the renders?
- You do. Every paid plan includes a commercial license — sell the prints, ship them through POD, license them to clients. Watermarks only appear on the free trial.
- Can I use the output to sell merchandise?
- Yes. Pro and Studio plans include a printed-merchandise license. Free trial outputs are for evaluation only.
Fulfillment and accounts
- Can VFX.ai print and ship for me?
- Yes. The catalog route lets you connect a Printful or Printify store and push finished renders straight to the print queue. We do not take a cut of fulfillment — provider pricing is passed through.
- How do I cancel my subscription?
- From your dashboard, Account → Plan → Cancel. Your access continues through the end of the billing period. Reactivating keeps your renders and settings.
- Where do you store my originals and renders?
- Renders stay on your account for as long as you keep it active. We delete originals within 30 days of upload unless you opted in to keep them for re-renders. You can delete everything manually from your dashboard at any time.
